Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Year 4 Homework

Just a little update on homework requirements this term.  Please continue to ensure your children are reading at least five times a week.  Reading records should be brought in, signed, on Monday morning (or first day of the week) for the ticks to be counted.

The majority of children in the class are now on "the grid" for times tables so should continue to practice all times tables, focusing on any that they know they sometimes struggle with.  Hit the Button is a brilliant game to allow you to focus on particular tables.  The Soundcheck game on TTRS is great for rapid recall of all times tables and will help them prepare for the MTC (Multiplication Table Check) which they will sit later this year.  I will give more details about the MTC later this term.

I have updated Mathletics with some problem-solving activities to be completed in the next four weeks.  We are still continuing our Decimal work in school.  If your child hasn't completed the Decimal work on Mathletics then they should do this as well as the new activities.  Miss Rice's homework club will continue on a Wednesday lunchtime for any child who is struggling to get the work done at home or needs a bit of assistance.

And finally, Spelling testing will change from a Friday to a Thursday from this week, until further notice.  The children will be tested this week on words given out before Easter.

Please do get in touch if you have any questions or need any assistance.  Thank you for your continued support.
