Term 6 Week 6 6th July 2020
I have set you some work on Mathletics on transformations of shapes this coincides with the White Rose Maths lessons this week.
I have created a Mathletics Blog to celebrate the whole school's successes on Mathletics. I will announce the top 10 participators in the whole school and the child, who has achieved the most points, in each year group. Well done to all the Year 5s who have managed to make it into the top 10! There is a battle for the top.
We have 4 White Rose lessons this week. A Friday Family Challenge will be uploaded on Friday. The challenge gets increasingly difficult, all the way up to KS3 and 4 maths.
I have attached the worksheets for these lessons at the bottom of this post.
Please continue to work through the Talk4Writing booklets, these can both be downloaded in Week 1 and Week 4.
I have uploaded the final two chapters of Goodnight Mister Tom. I have really enjoyed reading this book and I hope you have too.
You will see the challenge activities for chapter 23 sections C and D are your personal responses to the book.
I would like you to either fill those sections and return them to me via email or create your own, this is so that I can create a display of your work that you will be able to see when you return to school in the Autumn. You can be as creative as you like, you could even think of your own activities to be put on display.
Spellings this week are words with the long vowel sound /i/ spelt with a y.
I will still be accepting any tasks completed from the Science Bingo half term activity sheet. Please see that blog post for updates on tasks and house points if you do complete and submit any.
Thank you to everyone who sent in work for the Minibeast project. If you are still working on something keep going and send it in, it doesn’t matter if it’s a bit late!
For those of you who are done we are going to do something different for the last few weeks of school. Children’s Art Week will be running for 3 weeks and we would like you to take part. Each week there will be a different theme for you to think about. This week’s theme is Connecting Across Generations. You could have a look at the website and some suggested activities but we know how creative you are and that you can think up your own ideas! We will be awarding house points for every child who takes part and the bigger the effort the bigger the reward! It would be great if you could explain a bit about what you have created so we understand where you got your inspiration from.
