Term 6 Week 2 8th June 2020
I have set some tasks on Mathletics, however some of you may have already completed these tasks as we are re-covering algebra this week.
Well done to Rhys and Ryan who have received a bronze Mathletics award this week and 100HPs.
Another congratulations are in order for Kennedy who received a silver Mathletics award and 300HPs.
We have 4 White Rose lessons and a challenge this week. The challenge gets increasingly difficult, all the way up to KS3 and 4 maths. Below is the link to the lessons and teaching slides:
I have attached the worksheets for these lessons at the bottom of this post.
We are going to complete another Talk4Writing unit, this time we have picked The City of Silence, which you can find here:
In school we will be aiming to complete one activity from it per day. Some activities will take longer than others (check out the Year 6 Blog to see how much we managed to complete at school last week).
Spellings this week are word families based on showing how words are related in form and meaning. Remember it is just as important to be able to use these words in context, you could try writing them into sentences whilst you are leaning the spellings.
I have also uploaded the next chapter of Goodnight Mister Tom, along with the comprehension tasks. You may want to complete the tasks or just read each chapter as they are uploaded.
I will update the Science activities once I have taught them at school and know how much we have got through.
Lesson 2 is attached below, there is a Power Point to guide you in the activities.
Lesson 3 is attached below, there is a Power Point to guide you in the activities.
It is recommended that you supervise your child if they are researching (I fell into a very interesting internet hole finding out information for the pupils in my bubble).
Northamptonshire Virtual School Games
The Northamptonshire Virtual School Games has begun and we will be joining schools from all over the county in taking part in a series of weekly sporting challenges over the next couple of months.
All you need to do is watch the challenge videos once they are released Virtual School Games website (www.northamptonshiresport.org/school-games), Facebook or Twitter at 10am Monday morning and then have a go at home or school.
Once you have completed the challenges, log your attempts as many times as you complete them on the Virtual School Games website. For every challenge logged, the school earns Participation Points which are then used to crown the weekly champions. You can also upload your photos and videos attempting the challenges for the chance to win prizes for yourself as well.
As an extra incentive 20 house points will be awarded for each attempt. Northamptonshire Sport will inform me of each attempt and I will update the house point totals.
Find below a grid with some suggested tasks for our KS2 topic of Minibeasts.
Remember that I would love to see your work, send it to me at email@example.com
