Advance notice for parents: National Attendance Statutory guidance - comes into effect from 19th August.
A new National Framework for Penalty Notices is being introduced. The regulations will come into effect from 19th August 2024. The aim is to improve consistency in the use of penalty notices across England.
The new framework is designed to increase pupil attendance and reduce persistent absences, including through sporadic attendance (odd days off) and term-time holidays. The attached letter explains what is happening in more detail.
Our attendance policy will be updated to reflect the new statutory guidance and will be published in September.
