Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

A Huge Thank You For Your Support

We had a fantastic afternoon on Friday, taking part in the Boughton Defib Fundraiser. Although sat socially distanced on the field, this whole-school event was the first we have done for a very long time and felt like a little slice of normality. The children supported all our penalty takers with songs, cheers and banners. The penalty takers showed our values of Courage and Respect, cheering each other on and being gracious in defeat.

Our seven finalists who each took home a medal were, Eddie (Reception), Preston (Year 1), Joshua (Year 2), Frankie (Year 3), Harry R, (Year 4), Will (Year 5) and Joe (Year 6). Our overall winner who also took home the trophy was Preston. Well done to all our finalists.

All the children who got the 'Guess the sporty teacher' quiz questions correct were put into a hat. Our winner of the signed Northamptonshire Steelbacks cricket bat and shirt was Phoebe (year 2). Our runners- up prize of a signed shirt went to brother and sister, Sonny and Effie. The answers to the quiz can be found below.

The children loved seeing the teachers getting soaked from head to toe. The unlucky victims were Mrs Allen, Miss Sadler, Mrs James, Miss Page and Mrs Cook. The children seemed to enjoy hurling wet sponges at us a little bit too much. We got very wet indeed!

We can't quite believe the huge amount of generosity that has been shown by our school community. Our aim was to raise £800, which would cover part of the cost of the defibrillator and if we could get close to the full cost of £1500, that would be amazing. Well, I am so delighted to tell you all that our final amount raised stands at just over £2000! We will now be able to pay for the defibrillator, the protective case and get the defib installed outside the school, ready to be used if anyone should ever need it.

A big thank you to Chris Liddle (Max's Dad) coach at Northamptonshire Steelbacks, for providing our amazing quiz prizes.

Thank you to local medical company Sim and Skills for providing a defibrillator at a hugely reduced cost.

Thank you to the teachers for supporting the fundraiser and being willing victims in the post-match soak.

Thank you to the children for participating in the penalty shoot-out, being our goalkeepers and score-takers and showing lots of support to each other.

And most importantly, a massive thank you to the Boughton parents, grandparents, friends and local community for showing so much support and generosity enabling us to reach our target and get this life-saving equipment installed.
