Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

World Book Day: Thursday 2nd March 2023

This year's World Book Day takes place on Thursday 2nd March 2023.

We are aware that we have already asked for the support of parents and families with our sponsored read, and are conscious of the amount of expense that can be involved in these events.

Therefore, we are opting for a simple approach this year.

The children can come to school in mufti and have 2 options for this:

  1. Dress as a favourite book character.  Ideally, bring the book into school with you and be ready to explain who you are and why you like them.
  2. Dress in PJs or a onesie and bring a favourite bedtime story (or any favourite book!).

The idea of World Book Day is to highlight the importance of reading and help children develop a love of reading, so we will continue to make this our ongoing focus.

The children will come home with a World Book Day voucher which entitles them to £1 off a range of books.  This includes books they can purchase at our first Usborne Book Fair, which will take place in school during the week beginning 20th March.  Further details will follow soon.

As always, thank you for your support of the school in our efforts to help every child become a lifelong reader.
