Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Ideas for Home Learning

Below are some ideas for the week ahead. Also attached are this weeks spellings.

Please make sure you continue to read 5 times a week if possible.

With the weather being so lovely it is a good opportunity to get into the garden and sketch any flowers and trees you can see. Use labels to describe what you can see and write captions with any interesting facts. Don't worry if there are no flowers or trees around, you can use the internet to research them.

Below is the PowerPoint to explain the spelling pattern for this week and the list of words.

These words are for all year 2 children to learn (there will be no formal test, they are for home testing only.) They can explore the spelling pattern /zh/ identifying any other words with this sound in and make their own dictation sentences up. Continue to practise the high frequency and common exception words.

Mathletic challenges are focusing on units of measurements, for example what do we use to measure the length, weight etc. Any problems with login details please contact the office.

Attached is an adding, three single digit numbers sheet.

As a challenge, time your child to see how long it takes them to do it, when repeated can they get quicker? If given a target time, how long till they reach it?

This can be done on paper or being read out to the child. Hint.. look out for any number bonds or doubles to help.

These are all ideas for you to do, if you and your child are well enough

Take care

Mrs Allen
