Another week has passed. Let’s see what Year 3 have been up to this week.
Jake used his computing skills to make a collage for the school rainbow. He used his favourite green superheroes and put them together. It is lovely to see him developing a new skill.
Carter has been super busy over the past few weeks, he has updated me on some of the things he had been doing. In English Carter has been exploring nouns, adjectives and verbs. He has also been looking into suffixes and practising his weekly spellings. Carter has enjoyed reading the book ‘Slime’ by David Walliams and has been working out with Joe Wicks videos daily. In Science he is currently studying the topic ‘weather and climate’ and enjoyed looking at different animal groups. Carter planted his own strawberry plants in the garden when learning about plants. For History and Geography Carter has been looking at Natural Superlatives, country studies, Victorian timelines and he has researched into Florence Nightingale and Neil Armstrong. Carter has been logging onto Mathletics once or twice a week and finally he has been creative by baking cakes and making his very own treasure maps. WOW! You have been so busy learning lots of new things. You should be very proud.
This week Jack has been busy with his artwork. He chose to recreate a painting created by Banksy and he also wrote some facts about the artist. Jack has also been working hard with his Maths and Spellings.
Luca has been completing English and Maths tasks daily. He is currently doing a topic on the human body which he is really enjoying. Luca has started work on his mini-beasts project by writing a diary entry from a scorpion’s point of view. Luca has learnt how to ride his bike and practiced this skill by riding around the whole of Pitsford reservoir. Luca received a medal for taking part in a landmarks challenge and he has started weekly goal keeping coaching, as he really misses playing football.
I’ve had lots of emails this week saying that a lot of Year 3 children are missing school and their friends. I miss teaching you all and miss seeing your faces each morning. Look on the home learning blog next week for some wellbeing resources for you to try at home.
