Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Our Learning

Ava has been continuing her hard work in spellings, reading and lots of Mathletics. She has been out on her bike and has completed the collage for the school rainbow.

Hayley has been working hard on Mathletics and has enjoyed seeing the great progress she is making, as well as working on the suggested tasks that have been set. She has been watching lots of educational videos on YouTube about the planets, coral under the sea and how chocolate is made!!! Hayley has enjoyed being out in the sun on her trampoline. She enjoyed the VE Day celebrations, making bunting and a delicious looking Victoria sponge with her mum.

Amelie has been in the garden, enjoying the sunshine making Lego boats with her brothers.

Paige has been doing some super science work this week. She has completed her glossary, made a bug hotel and has started to grow her own tomatoes, peppers, spring onions and radishes. Paige has been learning all about VE Day, she watched a video on how life was when the war ended and Winston Churchill’s speech. To celebrate with her family they made flags, decorated medals, baked cakes and had a VE Day picnic in the garden. Each month Paige receives a box of treats from a different country and then rates her favourite. This month the box came from Germany and Paige enjoyed eating and exploring what was in the box. Paige has been enjoying lots of family time, including a Saturday night quiz, days out on her scooter, water fights and having a fun make over, making mum look amazing!!!!!

Molly has been keeping fit this week going out on her bike and doing her online dance lessons. She has enjoyed listening to the Gorilla story and has completed the reading challenge. Molly is working on the Pandoras Box writing task and has been working hard on Mathletics. This week she has been writing and posting letters to her friend who is feeling sad and has enjoyed receiving letters back. To celebrate VE Day Molly made bunting and had afternoon tea. She has enjoyed looking at old photos and talking with her family about events that happened, super history work.

Elize has continued to work hard on Mathletics, reading, spellings and the other tasks set. She has been keeping active with Joe Wicks, playing on the bouncy castle, getting out on the scooter and walking the dog. To celebrate VE Day Elize enjoyed an afternoon tea in the garden listening to 1940s music! Elize has taken good care of her sunflowers and they are growing well.

Amber has been very busy over the last few weeks working on BBC Bitesize, English and Maths workbooks and reading lots of books on Oxford Owls. She has been completing work on Mathletics and practising her spellings. Amber has been learning about how to care for vegetables and has planted her own. She has been learning new moves taking part in the weekly strictly lessons and baking chocolate brownies and lemon cupcakes.

Caitlin has been enjoying doing creative writing and writing for a purpose. She has completed the Gorilla reading task and has created her own pictures to represent science. Caitlin used VE Day to do some topic work and get an understanding of what happened on the day. She made flags and wore her red dress for tea in the garden with her family.

Austin has been busy with his family celebrating VE Day. He enjoyed putting up bunting and flags, whilst baking cakes and scones and making skewers for the bbq, all the time practising his fractions. He has lost a couple of teeth so may be unrecognisable when we get back to school! Austin has been completing his school work and enjoyed working on his glossary.

Tommy has enjoyed making the most of the good weather by going out walking and looking at different habitats. He found bird houses in trees, piles of logs, burrows under fences and holes in the walls where bees live. When he got home, Tommy made a bug hotel out of toilet rolls and sticks. Tommy has been looking at flags from different countries. He has enjoyed painting stones, colouring in the Union Jack flag and making scones for afternoon tea on VE Day. He continues to write his diary entries and keeps up with his Mathletics and spellings. He has been practising his reading with Esme and over video calls to grandad and auntie.

Evie O has been mixing her work with fun and games this week. She learnt about VE Day with a quiz and decorated the house for an amazing street party, where people dressed up and sang songs. Evie completed a Morse Code breaker and made a spitfire plane. Evie used chalk to practise her tally charts and has been learning about the human body parts. Evie wanted to feel like it was a ‘proper school’ day, so she dressed in her summer uniform.
