Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Home Learning Suggestions

Hope you are all well! Here are some activities you can do at home if both you and your child are well enough.

I have uploaded the Year 1 spellings to practice. These could be done on paper, a whiteboards or to make the most of the sunshine go into your garden and use sticks or stones to spell out some words!

Currently in Maths Year 1 have been focussing on multiplication and division, there are some activities on Mathletics which are linked to this for you to try but you could also practise multiplication and division in your home or garden. Share out ingredients for your family meals equally, count how many groups of flowers are beginning to grow outside, use lego to share out even or odd amounts of bricks - are there numbers where you cannot do this equally?

In Year 1 we have loved learning all about the Planets for our creative writing so i have uploaded a sheet where you can create/design your very own planet! I would love to see what you do so you could send these in to the class email and I'll share them with everyone. Or there is a creative writing prompt sheet about a very peculiar visitor to the moon for you to try!

Please remember to try and read as much as possible and to use 'say the sounds, read the word' when coming across new or unfamiliar words.

Everyone take care, I miss you all!
