Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Reception Home Learning

As you may have seen in Mrs James' weekly letters, Reception class are very lucky as we have our Tapestry Learning journal to keep in contact with each other, during this very strange time.

It has been so lovely to see what the children have been up to at home and I will continue to share as many photos that have been posted as possible, so the children can continue to see each other.

We are even having our first Zoom party later today. Please see the message on Tapestry for the meeting code to join in.

If you are having any problems accessing your Tapestry account, please send an email to the normal school admin email address and I will sort out any log-in issues for you.

Each week we have posted short video lessons for phonics, handwriting and maths games so the children can join in at home, if they would like to. I will also continue to post photos of phonics books, so the children have something to read. There are also some free reading resources about, which Mrs James has posted links to in this week's letter.

We have also been encouraging lots of play, as this is the best way for children to learn and continue to develop the three prime areas of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language and Physical Development.

I can recommend two new resources that are available online and advocate lots of play.

'Can I Go and Play Now..?' author and Early Years expert Greg Botteril has created Play School TV which features short videos designed to inspire magic and adventure in children's play

This fab website has been created in the past two weeks by Early Years experts and has wonderful and simple ideas and resources for children to play

As it would have been the Easter holidays next week, I won't be posting video lessons, but I will add some more phonics books and links to Easter themed activities, with video lessons resuming the following week.
