Term 6 Week 7 13th July 2020
I have set some tasks on Mathletics on circles, the mean and pie charts to coincide with the White Rose Maths lessons this week.
As these are concept we haven't seen in Year 6 this year I would strongly suggest doing both Mathletics and White Rose activities this week.
I have created a Mathletics Blog to celebrate the whole school's successes on Mathletics. I will announce the top 10 participators in the whole school and the child, who has achieved the most points, in each year group. Well done to the Year 6s who have made it into the top 10!
We have 4 White Rose lessons this week. A Friday Family Challenge will be uploaded on Friday. The challenge gets increasingly difficult, all the way up to KS3 and 4 maths. Below is the link to the lessons and teaching slides:
I have attached the worksheets for these lessons at the bottom of this post.
We are working our way through the Talk4Writing booklet entitled Monsters:
In school we will be aiming to complete one activity from it per day. Some activities will take longer than others (check out the Year 6 Blog to see how much we managed to complete at school last week).
We will be continuing the challenge activities for chapter 23 sections C and D are your personal responses to the book.
I would like you to either fill those sections and return them to Miss Rice via email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or create your own, this is so that I can create a display of your work that children will be able to see when they return to school in the Autumn. You can be as creative as you like, you could even think of your own activities to be put on display. These can be done over the next couple of weeks.
Spellings this week are words with the long /o/ sound spelt 'ou' or 'ow'.
For those of you who are done we are going to do something different for the last few weeks of school. Children’s Art Week will be running for 3 weeks and we would like you to take part. Each week there will be a different theme for you to think about. This week’s theme is Literacy and Creative Writing. You could have a look at the website and some suggested activities but we know how creative you are and that you can think up your own ideas! We will be awarding house points for every child who takes part and the bigger the effort the bigger the reward! It would be great if you could explain a bit about what you have created so we understand where you got your inspiration from.
As per our email on Friday, 10th July, we will be doing a couple of sessions next week on health and relationships. If you would like the resources we are using please email me on email@example.com
