Term 5 Week 3 4th May 2020
Morning everyone and welcome to Week 3 of this term and happy Star Wars Day! May the 4th be with you. Read to the bottom for a terrible Star Wars joke and feel free to send me any of your own.
Last week we began work on decimals which was brand new and definitely challenging. Don’t panic too much if you found it tricky, any effort is better than none and it will be looked at again! This week we are moving onto the Week 2 work in White Rose which you can access using the following link. Please do not do the week with today’s date on it. We are a bit behind them and you need to complete Week 2 where the first lesson is to divide 2 digits by 10. You may need to scroll down a bit to find it.
Please note that for each lesson there is a teaching video to watch first, don’t attempt to complete the sheets without watching these. If you didn’t do last week’s work then go back and start on Week 1 instead. The first lesson last week was recognising tenths and hundredths. Please make these lessons your focus, rather than Mathletics. You should continue to practise your times tables and for those of you on the grid, Miss Sadler has kindly created a 144 grid for you to work on which I will add to this blog later with the answers. The order has been changed from the one we use in class. Remember you have 5 minutes to see how many you get or you could complete the whole thing and time yourself to try to get faster each time.
For English you should still be working on your Talk 4 Writing work which was linked last week for the next three weeks of this term. Spellings are attached for this week and are using the prefix auto. Some of these are hard this week. Even if you are understanding the meanings of the words and can use them correctly then they are worth looking at! Autonomy is always a tricky one to understand.
Continue with your topic project for the rest of this term. If you need to see the instructions again then please look at last week’s blog which was in the old Year 4 blog instead of home learning.
Remember these activities are to be completed if you are able and well enough. Please keep emailing me what you are getting up to and have a great week.
Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are opening their gifts on Christmas morning. Vader says to Luke “I know what Santa has brought you already.”
“How?” replies Luke.
“I felt your presents.”
