E-safety at Boughton Primary
This morning children from Y1 to Y6 had a fabulous assembly, delivered by Evie R, Michelle and Dexter.
The key messages in the presentation were that children need to know how to keep themselves safe online. This was very timely, given what has been in the news over the past few days.
We have told the children:
- don't click on links or pop-ups that you are unsure about, including allowing your location to be shared
- if anything happens that you are unsure or uncomfortable about, tell an adult straight away.
We have also spoken today to KS2 classes as some of the children have been talking about Momo. We've asked the children not to discuss it, search for it or encourage others to do so. I've attached a factsheet about this. Please do let your child's teacher know if anything further comes up about this at home. So far it hasn't been mentioned within KS1 so we haven't discussed it with the younger children.
The NSPCC delivered a very useful parents' session here at Boughton a few months ago. One of the key messages of the training was that parents need to teach their children to be "share aware".
