Disco cancellation - update from Mrs James
I understand there will naturally be disappointment regarding the cancellation of next week's discos and would like to extend my apologies to all parents and children.
The decision was not taken lightly and was based upon some concerns raised about the timings and cost. I therefore advised the BSA that it would be prudent to postpone on this occasion.
Plans are being made for events for the children after half term, including pancake day and a new date for the disco around Easter. Timings and cost will be reviewed and we will aim to arrive at a more satisfactory arrangement for all concerned.
May I ask parents to refrain from making negative comments about the school and the BSA on social media. I understand that you may feel frustrated but please also appreciate that all of these events are organised by volunteers and require parents and staff to give up their time to attend.
There are plans to "reboot" the BSA and we are considering rebranding and relaunching next term. Parents and carers' views and opinions are going to be sought via a questionnaire which we will distribute at next week's family assembly, with an extra copy going out in bookbags. All parents and carers are encouraged to respond as we can only move forward with a plan if we have transparency and an inclusive culture between all involved in the life of the school.
We are all working towards the same goal - to make Boughton the best it can be for all of our children.
