Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
Be Kind…Be Safe…Be Responsible

Our Week

Another busy week done and plenty of updates from Year 4 children with what you have been up to. There is only one more week left until the end of term, but keep up all of your fantastic efforts with your home learning and remember to send them in by email to me!

Jessica and her family made an amazing discovery last weekend while cleaning in their cellar. Hidden away in a hole in the wall, they found an old newspaper and some bullets wrapped up in some cloth. These were dated from around 1938, so must have been hidden for a long time! Jessica produced a superb recount/explanation of her discovery. Jessica and her sister Phoebe have also been doing some learning at home about the Romans, and together they made a superb film called 'Pax' based on what they have learned. Well done!

Jasmine has continued to work on her maths and is becoming more confident with her learning. She took part in the virtual sports day this week and has had a lot of fun doing it. Jasmine is loving reading the 'Ickabog' and is now waiting daily for chapters to be added. She has been doing lots of reading at home and would now have achieved her Platinum reading award. Well done Jasmine!

Kian has done some work on Talk For Writing, practised his spellings and has done a bit of reading. He is also still loving finding out more about Minibeasts, and was so amazed to be able to pick up a Green Darner Dragonfly in his garden.  He has used an app called Picture Insect to identify the Minibeasts he has found. Keep up the exploring Kian!

Lexi is keeping up her times tables practice and is enjoying reading at home. She has been reading a David Walliams story and likes the humour he uses in the book. Lexi is also developing her entrepreneurial skills with an idea to sell dog toys online.

Ashleigh has been keeping very busy taking the dog out for walks and participating in the virtual sports day. She has been continuing to work on her Talk for Writing, as well as having a go at the art challenges. Ashleigh has produced some lovely pictures of her family and an ocean sunset, and she has also completed her Courage picture/words. She has been keeping up her work on the Maths and Spellings as well. Super effort Ashleigh!

Remember that next week we have a family assembly on Wednesday 15th July at 1.15pm online. I look forward to seeing you all then if you can make it! Have a great weekend everybody.
