Excellence through Effort & Enjoyment
'Kind words, Kind deeds, Kind thoughts'

Descriptive writing

Today Year 3 have been producing some fantastic descriptive writing about the picture Surprised.

This term the children are writing stories based on a picture. As a class we have been looking at the picture ‘Surprised’  by Henry Rousseau and we have discussed what the tiger might be doing, what the expression on his face is telling us, what we can see and what we can hear. From all this information the children wrote descriptive paragraphs and then up-levelled  their writing in purple pen, improving their sentences, spellings and vocabulary.
